Look for emotional, behavioral and physical signs of stress. Remember - you likely deal with stress in a consistent fashion. Examples -
- Negative emotions like anxiety, fear, anger, sadness, or frustration kick in.
- Behaviors often change. You may lose sleep. Maybe you withdraw. Some dig in and become close minded. Your decision making habits may change. Interactions with friends and family change. Some rely on alcohol, tobacco or drugs.
- Your body feels stress. You may get headaches, nausea or indigestion. Your breathing changes. Your may perspire more or even feel heart palpitations. Little aches and pains get worse.
