Expectations serve 2 purposes -
- They're a way of giving direction
- They allow you to give feedback
Think of expectations as beliefs.
- You believe that someone has the ability to perform against a standard.
- You can expect someone to improve towards a standard, achieve a standard or outperform a standard.
- It depends on your belief in the individual.
